Job description

Job Title: Nurse Practitioner
No. of Positions / Candidates Required: 1 (Part-Time)
Specialty: Occupational Medicine / Occupational Health
Place of Work (City/State): Remote / Telework - (DOL network via GFE and VPN)
Duration: 1 Year + Option Period of 1 year (total 2 years)
Start Date: 08/01/2026
Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM; flexible scheduling based on OOMN operational needs
How Many Shifts Needed Per Month: Part-time coverage; 1,040 hours annually at full utilization (~20 hours/week)
License: Active, unrestricted NP license in good standing - no restrictions, suspensions, or disciplinary actions
Certifications: Current NP certification in good standing; occupational health or related specialty certification preferred
Experience Needed: Minimum 2-3 years clinical practice experience with hands-on experience in medical surveillance examinations and fitness-for-duty reviews
Special Skills Needed: Experience administering and conducting medical surveillance, certification, or FFD examinations, strong documentation skills for medical clearance determinations
Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 weeks from award.
Responsibilities:
  • Review OMEP fitness-for-duty and medical surveillance examinations; determine whether examinees meet position physical requirements and draft supporting clearance documentation
  • Complete all required documentation, update OMEP program management software, and submit work products into DOL internal systems using GFE
  • Participate in scheduled OOMN staff meetings and maintain all records in compliance with DOL records management and Privacy Act requirements

Misc: Public Trust clearance eligibility mandatory; all work performed remotely on GFE; contractor responsible for own internet service;
