• Conduct thorough mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify individual care requirements and develop personalized treatment plans.
• Provide one-on-one and group counseling sessions, addressing emotional challenges related to aging, grief, and life transitions.
• Facilitate educational workshops for staff and family members to promote healthy coping strategies and emotional well-being in elderly individuals.
• Deliver grief and loss counseling services to residents and their families, focusing on navigating complex end-of-life issues.
• Collaborate with other professionals in multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated care and the best outcomes for clients.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and session notes in accordance with clinic policies and state regulations.

Your primary focus will be on elderly clients who are experiencing mental health challenges associated with aging. These challenges may include anxiety, depression, grief from personal losses, and struggles with navigating significant life transitions. Understanding the unique needs and cultural backgrounds of these individuals is crucial in delivering effective therapeutic interventions.

• A Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Successful completion of a full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting is required.
• Must be eligible for licensure by the state of New York.
• A valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish trust and rapport with clients quickly.
• Strong listening skills with an emphasis on empathy while guiding clients toward positive changes.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills for effective case management.

• Experience working with geriatric populations and familiarity with common mental health issues in older adults.
• Background in addiction counseling and understanding treatment modalities related to substance use disorders.
• Experience with teletherapy platforms and remote treatment delivery.
