Job description

The role of the Business Intelligence Manager is to develop and document applications, tools and processes relating to data acquisition, transformation, and delivery in support of business intelligence objectives. Activities will include report development and analytics, website maintenance, technical documentation, database support, system builds, quality assurance testing, technical troubleshooting and other related development and maintenance tasks.ย

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the strategic design, development and maintenance of business intelligence applications
  • Report development and maintenance within SQL Server environment
  • Development, automation and maintenance of ETL processes
  • Integration of new data sources across multiple formats
  • Provide technical support for Vizient Southeast members relating to Business Intelligence Portal
  • Support analytical environment for internal staff
  • Conduct research into current and emerging technologies in support of business intelligence efforts
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with existing database processes and reports
  • Maintenance of technical documentation


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with the SQL Server BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Azure, Fabric, Power BI)
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices
  • Broad knowledge of reporting environments, query tools and practices
  • Experience with SDLC and software development methodologies
  • Web development technologies a plus such as .NET Core, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax, etc.
  • Understanding of front-end web frameworks such as Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.
  • Object oriented programming and scripting languages a plus (C#, Python etc)
  • Experience with healthcare data a plus
  • 5+ years experience

Required Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in the field of computer science and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Microsoft certifications a plus

Travel Requirements:ย  10%
