Job description

DAP is seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager to support the growth of our Orgill business. Reporting to the National Account Manager (NAM), this role will help drive sales, distribution expansion, and new business opportunities across Orgill's distribution network and Corporate Accounts program.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Orgill merchants, DAP field sales teams, and cross-functional partners to increase product placement, expand category penetration, execute promotions, and deliver profitable growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-energy sales professional who thrives on building relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and turning strategy into execution.


Responsibilities

Drive Business Development & Sales Growth (50%)

  • Develop and grow business within assigned Orgill Corporate Accounts and target customer lists.
  • Identify and secure new customer opportunities and new product placements.
  • Expand DAP's presence through adjacent category penetration with existing customers.
  • Lead and support line reviews, business planning, promotional programs, and customer presentations.
  • Analyze customer performance and profitability to identify growth opportunities.
  • Support store reset initiatives and execution activities.

Partner with the DAP & Orgill Sales Organizations (20%)

  • Collaborate with the National Account Manager and DAP Field Sales Team to support national account growth objectives.
  • Communicate customer priorities, initiatives, and opportunities to field sales teams and Orgill Sales Team as needed.
  • Drive alignment and execution across customer-facing teams.

Increase Distribution & Promotional Opportunities (10%)

  • Support efforts to exceed annual sales targets through expanded product distribution.
  • Partner with Orgill merchants and internal teams to increase warehouse and drop-ship opportunities.
  • Identify and execute promotional programs that drive incremental sales growth.

Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration (10%)

  • Work closely with Category Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Forecasting, Finance, and Distribution teams.
  • Coordinate resources and initiatives that support customer growth and execution excellence.
  • Ensure timely communication and follow-through on customer commitments.

Support Key Account Operations (10%)

  • Assist with: 
    • Promotions and marketing programs
    • Returns and allowances
    • Forecasting and demand planning
    • Project management initiatives
    • Trade show support
    • Orgill.com product content management
    • Competitive market analysis and customer insights

Requirements

  • Strong sales, business development, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative approach with strong cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Experience utilizing Power BI and business analytics tools.

Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of field sales experience, account management experience, or a combination of sales, marketing, and merchandising experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated success growing customer accounts and delivering sales results.
  • Experience working with two-step distribution models preferred.
  • Key account management experience is a plus.
  • Home improvement, building products, hardware, or distribution channel experience is preferred.

Physical & Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 60% as business needs require.
  • Ability to participate in store resets and merchandising activities.
  • Ability to lift and move products and materials up to 50 pounds.
