Job description

Position Overview:
The Authorization Specialist - Remote plays a key role in Revenue Cycle of the organization. We are looking for an experienced Authorization Specialist with Home Health to add to our team. Responsible for obtaining and receiving authorization approvals for Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers.
Schedule: Monday through Friday - 8:00-4:30
Territory: Remote
Essential Job Functions:
  • Works with Branch staff to obtain necessary paperwork to request authorization
  • Obtains referrals and authorizations for patients as outlined by each individual's insurance
  • Tracking/updating authorizations information in the medical record
  • Maintains strong working relationship with payers, branch staff and revenue cycle team
  • Follows up timely on pending and expiring authorizations
  • Acts as liaison for contacting the appropriate insurance case manager and obtaining authorization for follow-up visits on all disciplines.
  • Obtains necessary paperwork from branch to request authorization
  • Embed our Mission and Values in every interaction

Requirements:
  • One or more years of insurance authorization experience preferred.
  • Experience in the health care billing industry, preferred.
  • Utilization management experience and pre-certification helpful.
  • Customer Service experience.
