Job Description Summary:
The Benefit Verification and Authorization Specialist supports patients referred to Option Care Health to receive specialty medications by completing benefit verification and authorization activities for new referrals with speed and accuracy to enable timely access to care. This role works directly with payers to understand benefit design, interpret medical policies, obtain required authorizations, and communicate coverage details and outcomes to Patient Access staff to support timely and accurate onboarding.

Job Responsibilities
  • Processes benefit verification or authorization for all new referrals with speed and accuracy.
  • Assist Supervisor and Manager with special assignments as needed.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in related experience.

Basic Qualifications
  • Ability to multi-task and support numerous referrals/priorities at one time.
  • Ability to work in a fast past environment.
  • High degree of self-discipline in maintaining productivity expectations.
  • Must be detail-oriented and have a high degree of quality focus.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests
Healthcare/medical billing experience preferred.
May perform other duties as assigned
