Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Dual-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with Obesity Medicine certification to join an innovative, fully remote practice focused on delivering comprehensive psychiatric care through an evidence-based, patient-centered approach. This is an exciting opportunity to work with adults experiencing complex psychiatric conditions while integrating obesity medicine into psychiatric treatment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high-quality virtual psychiatric care, enjoys working in an evolving clinical environment, and is interested in integrating whole-person approaches into psychiatric treatment.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth.
Diagnose and treat adult patients with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders, and other serious mental illnesses.
Provide ongoing medication management and monitor treatment effectiveness.
Develop individualized treatment plans using clinical assessments and laboratory data when appropriate.
Collaborate with physicians, registered dietitians, behavioral health professionals, and other interdisciplinary team members.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Participate in weekly clinical case discussions and interdisciplinary meetings.
Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical workflow enhancements.
Deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based patient care.
Qualifications
Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) certification required.
Candidates with PMHNP certification and experience treating obesity patients are welcome to apply. Formal Obesity Medicine certification (ABOM or equivalent) is preferred but not required.
Candidates who do not have obesity medicine experience may still be considered if they hold an active PMHNP license in multiple states, particularly California, along with additional licenses in Texas, Florida, New York, and/or Virginia..
Active California NP license required.
Minimum 3 years of experience practicing as a certified PMHNP.
Previous telehealth or virtual psychiatric practice experience required.
Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and medication management skills.
Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Startup or early-stage healthcare experience is a plus.
Interest in integrative, metabolic, or lifestyle-focused psychiatry is highly desirable.
