New Brunswick Counseling Center (NBCC), a CARF-accredited nonprofit organization, is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP). This role provides high-quality nursing care during early morning medication dosing hours while supporting our Department of Corrections (DOC) program. Schedule
- Part-Time: 20 to 24hrs per week
- Monday-Friday: 5:45 AM - 1:00 PM
- Minimum Availability: 3 weekdays per week
- Rotating Saturday: 1 Saturday per month (5:45 AM - 10:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and dispense medications for Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment in accordance with New Jersey State and Federal regulations under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) or Medical Director.
- Accurately document medication administration, vital signs, patient assessments, and clinical interactions.
- Monitor patient health status and promptly communicate concerns to the RN or Medical Director.
- Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and potential side effects.
- Conduct patient intake screenings and collect relevant medical information.
- Prepare and administer TB skin tests, immunizations, and other treatments as directed.
- Provide basic wound care, first aid, and respond appropriately during medical emergencies.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment and ensure adequate inventory of medical supplies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, counselors, and other interdisciplinary team members to provide coordinated patient care.
- Assist with patient scheduling and appointment coordination.
- Serve as a liaison between patients, clinical staff, and case managers to promote effective communication and continuity of care.
- Support clinical operations for the Department of Corrections (DOC) program as assigned.
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license (required).
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Experience in behavioral health, addiction medicine, opioid treatment programs (OTP), or substance use disorder (SUD) treatment is preferred.
