Through education, therapy, family support, recreation, and workforce development services, we create opportunities for individuals of all abilities to learn, grow, and live fulfilling lives.

Position Summary

Achievement Centers for Children is seeking a dynamic and mission-driven Program Manager to support the daily operations of our Recreation Programs. This role provides leadership for program staff, oversees operational logistics, ensures exceptional participant experiences, and helps maintain safe and effective programming for children, adults, and families.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee daily operations of assigned recreation programs
  • Coordinate staffing schedules and program logistics
  • Ensure programs are properly staffed and prepared
  • Address day-to-day operational challenges and participant needs
  • Support special events, seasonal programming, and organizational initiatives

Staff Leadership

  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training staff
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and coaching
  • Support employee development and performance management

Family & Community Engagement

  • Serve as a point of contact for families and caregivers
  • Communicate important updates regarding programming
  • Build relationships with community partners and stakeholders

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Assist with budget oversight and expense management
  • Maintain records, reports, and operational documentation
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and support program growth

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and safety standards
  • Support incident documentation and risk management efforts
  • Help maintain safe and welcoming program environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management, Human Services, Education, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 3–5 years of leadership, operations, or program management experience
  • Experience supervising teams preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout program spaces
  • Ability to lift and move program supplies as needed
  • Ability to actively participate in program activities

Schedule Requirements

  • Seasonal flexibility is required
  • Some local travel may be required
