Program Manager
Location: Columbus, Ohio (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are looking for a data platform manager to join a Data Technology organization. In this role, you will lead a team of platform engineers during a strategic migration of data assets to the cloud. You will report to the Director of Data Platforms and work with the Chief Data Office organization to influence business and technology strategies.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of colleagues and contractors, providing resource allocation, coaching, and development.
  • Translate technical designs from the Data Architect team into implemented physical data models that meet data governance, enterprise architecture, and business requirements for data warehousing.
  • Work with operational data and data acquisition teams to manage incoming sources and support downstream systems for reporting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with partners to prototype and recommend data solutions using new technologies.
  • Remain current on technology developments and align future state goals with strategic business goals.
  • Develop and maintain a technology roadmap for the aligned data platforms, including the execution of strategic, tactical, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain stable operations, ensuring operational metrics are proactively managed and reported.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree
Experience: 7+ years of experience as a technology manager for data warehouse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years in an IT environment.
  • Experience implementing cloud and enterprise data solutions.
  • Proficiency in AWS data technologies such as Lambda, S3, EC2, and IAM rules.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and discuss technical concepts with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organizational skills with demonstrated ability to build and manage a team, work with partners to set and meet service level agreements, and deliver work to expectations.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with developers, analysts, and business colleagues.
  • Knowledge and experience with DevOps practices, continuous delivery, and infrastructure as code.
  • 5+ years using ETL / data movement tools (AWS Glue, Informatica, IBM Infosphere).
  • Experience in one or more programming languages (Python, Java, Scala, C/C++).
  • Ability to evaluate, prototype, and recommend emerging Cloud data technologies and platforms.
  • Relevant certification in public cloud services (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty and AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty).
  • Experience with data governance and data management approaches, including data quality.
