    Job Description:

    The Workato Platform Developer serves as the primary technical owner and subject matter expert for the organization’s enterprise automation ecosystem. This role is responsible for designing, developing, governing, and maintaining scalable integrations and automation solutions using Workato.

    The position will manage the Workato platform across development, testing, and production environments; establish technical standards and reusable frameworks; optimize existing automations; and partner with business and technical stakeholders to identify and deliver new integration opportunities.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary owner and escalation point for the Workato platform.
    • Configure, govern, maintain, secure, and optimize Workato environments and platform capabilities.
    • Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise-grade Workato recipes, workflows, orchestrations, and custom connectors.
    • Develop and maintain integrations between Agiloft, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, internal applications, and other enterprise systems.
    • Create reusable triggers, actions, callable recipes, error-handling frameworks, logging standards, and integration components.
    • Establish and enforce automation standards, naming conventions, development practices, security requirements, and lifecycle-management processes.
    • Manage Dev, Test, and Production environments, including deployments, versioning, release controls, and quality assurance.
    • Configure and maintain API connections, OAuth integrations, access tokens, credentials, and authentication flows.
    • Monitor recipe execution, performance, throughput, error queues, and platform capacity.
    • Troubleshoot integration failures, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term corrective solutions.
    • Optimize and refactor existing recipes to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
    • Collaborate with business partners to identify automation opportunities and translate requirements into technical solutions.
    • Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, deployments, and production validation.
    • Onboard and support Workato users while promoting platform best practices.
    • Maintain technical documentation, recipe inventories, data mappings, integration endpoints, design decisions, and operational procedures.
    • Evaluate and introduce new Workato capabilities, including Workato AI, API Platform enhancements, and new connectors.

    Key Deliverables

    • Review and assess existing Workato recipes, connectors, environments, and security configurations.
    • Document current integrations, risks, gaps, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
    • Create an onboarding document covering the system landscape, recipe inventory, and governance needs.
    • Establish secure API and OAuth connections to integrated systems.
    • Build a reusable Workato integration framework.
    • Create or enhance custom REST and SOAP connectors as needed.
    • Deliver priority integrations identified by business stakeholders.
    • Implement standardized error handling, retries, logging, monitoring, and operational metrics.
    • Complete testing and UAT for deployed integrations.
    • Maintain secure environment configurations, connections, and credential stores.
    • Develop an automation roadmap in partnership with business and technical stakeholders.
    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Five or more years of experience developing enterprise integrations or automation solutions.
    • Advanced hands-on experience with Workato, including recipes, callable workflows, custom connectors, environments, connections, and platform administration.
    • Experience integrating enterprise applications using REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, OAuth, and other authentication methods.
    • Experience managing Dev, Test, and Production environments, deployments, versioning, and release controls.
    • Strong understanding of integration architecture, reusable design patterns, error handling, logging, and performance optimization.
    • Experience troubleshooting complex integration and automation failures.
    • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
    • Ability to independently manage priorities and deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience integrating Agiloft, Salesforce, SAP, ServiceNow, or comparable enterprise platforms.
    • Experience developing custom Workato connectors.
    • Knowledge of Workato API Platform and Workato AI capabilities.
    • Experience establishing enterprise automation governance and reusable development frameworks.
    • Workato Automation Pro, Automation Expert, or related certifications.
