Job description

Training Specialist supports multiple aspects of the training program, including training content, LMS updates, training matrices, documentation, and training quality. This role coordinates training activities and partners with production leaders and designated trainers to help ensure training is completed timely and effectively. The position also performs hands-on training, documentation, and administrative support tasks in line with company values and processes.

Shift: Second Shift/Night Shift

What You Will Do:
  • Conducts initial, refresher, or follow-up training sessions covering specified areas such as orientations, on-the-job training, use of computers and software, quality, and EHS.
  • Manages new hire training process throughout the entire training life cycle:
    • Creates plan for new hire training and partnership with the designated trainer(s).
    • Collects feedback from designated trainers on new hire effort, progress, and fit for the role.
    • Assesses trainees to measure progress and evaluate the effectiveness of training.
    • Communicates new hire feedback/concerns to functional leaders and HR.
    • Connects with new hires on training and trainer effectiveness.
  • Assists and monitors new employees in the work area and responds to their needs or questions timely.
  • Collects training documentation, ensuring accuracy and completion.
  • Updates training matrix as needed to ensure accuracy.
  • Identifies training gaps and creates cross-training plans with operations.
  • Evaluates onboarding and overall employee experience through trainee touchpoints.
  • Supports all necessary audit activities and preparation involving training.
  • Provides input on training needs, design of training curriculum, and methods to improve training effectiveness.
  • Assists with the development, preparation, and updates of training materials for training sessions.
  • Maintains awareness of the relevance and importance of plant procedures, processes, and other ongoing activities and how each contributes to achieving quality and safety objectives.
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
  • GED or High school diploma required
  • Experience with conducting training and leading projects
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience required; basic Microsoft Word & PowerPoint experience required
  • Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing preferred
