What You Will Contribute:
The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, callers, employees, vendors, and customers. This role is responsible for creating a welcoming, professional, and customer-focused front office experience while supporting daily administrative operations. The Receptionist answers and directs incoming calls, greets and registers visitors, manages select office coordination activities, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth and efficient front desk operations.
Job Duties:
  • Answer incoming calls through a computerized phone systems in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
  • Direct calls to the appropriate employee, department, or business area; answer general questions and take accurate messages as needed.
  • Greet, register, and assist visitors upon arrival, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Notify the appropriate Badger Meter employee or department when visitors arrive.
  • Support building access processes by creating employee and contractor badges.
  • Sort incoming USPS mail and process outgoing USPS mail.
  • Review and approve conference room reservations in Outlook, as appropriate.
  • Coordinate conference room set-ups by submitting work orders to Maintenance along with the required room set-up forms.
  • Monitor the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned office/common areas and communicate concerns to ensure service expectations are met.
  • Submit mailing list removal requests as needed.
  • Sort and mail daily invoices to external customers.
  • Provide backup administrative support to General Administration team members as needed.
  • Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior receptionist, administrative, or customer service experience required.
  • Experience working in a professional office environment

Qualifications:
  • Professional, welcoming, and customer-focused demeanor.
  • Ability to manage an electronic multi-line phone system; prior switchboard experience preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Basic proficiency with Adobe Suite preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion when handling visitor, employee, customer, or company information.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
