Job Summary
Responsible for managing, analyzing, and validating all aspects of customer rebates, allowances and discounts. Perform detailed sales analysis to evaluate customer compliance and review performance against contractual objectives. Must be able to understand and interpret customer agreements for payment accuracy. Responsible for defining, maintaining, and enhancing software application systems for accurate and efficient processing. Must work closely with Finance & Accounting to help establish and maintain accurate accrual information. Assist Government Pricing Manager with identifying items for inclusion required for government pricing calculations.
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage, analyze and validate all aspects of customer discounts, rebates, and allowances.
  • Perform detailed sales analysis and evaluate customer compliance with contract terms.
  • Interpret complex customer agreements to ensure accurate rebate calculations.
  • Extract and manipulate data using advanced system knowledge for required rebate calculations.
  • Continuous review of customer rebate terms and conditions to ensure accurate calculation methodology.
  • Develop and implement process enhancements to improve quality, accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prepare and distribute customer correspondence relating to rebates and allowances.
  • Provide data and analysis to support the Audit department's review of customer claims on prior rebate periods.
  • Continuous review of discount/allowance types to ensure compliance with government pricing calculation requirements.
  • Provide key information and analytical support to management team for requested rebate data.
  • Create and refine tools, templates and reports that enhance rebate processing effectiveness.
  • Review contracts for customer compliance, analyze sales data, prepare spreadsheets and conduct business reviews.
  • Review system accuracy of products, pricing, terms and conditions as they relate to the rebate function.
  • Maintain and update rebate trackers, ensuring accurate KPI reporting used for internal visibility.
  • Support month-end close activities by preparing rebate-related data and update reporting dashboards.
  • Complete monthly GL reconciliations and support P&L and balance sheet MoM variance analysis and commentary.
  • Present incentive rebate results and projections, including key sales trends and variances, in a clear format for internal and customer discussions.
  • Assist in preparing forecast inputs and analysis related to rebate performance.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the rebate area.
  • Reconcile customer A/R aged deductions by researching unmatched items, coordinating with the A/R team to resolve discrepancies and ensuring timely clearing of open items.
  • Track aged deductions and maintain detailed records of customer communications related to outstanding items.
  • Perform quarterly rebate accrual reconciliations and maintain accounts to ensure accuracy and proper financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing high level financial reports for month?end close, including providing accrual support, conducting preliminary variance analysis and helping maintain reporting dashboards.
  • Ensure adherence to internal control standard and support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and analysis.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet shared departmental goals.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Works as a member of a team to achieve all outcomes.
  • Operates in accordance with our Code of Conduct and Business Ethics, and all established regulatory, compliance and safety requirements.

Job Requirements
Education
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Position requires strong personal computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite of products
  • Advanced skills in Excel strongly preferred.
  • Must be self-motivated and possess strong business ethics for handling confidential information.
  • Able to make independent judgment decisions.
  • Solid oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of contracting/chargeback functions within the sales and marketing area.
  • Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Experience
  • Five plus (5+) years pharmaceutical rebates and/or financial experience.
