Job Summary:
The Ramp Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely handling of aircraft operations on the ramp area of an airport. Working as the leader of a ground handling team, the Ramp Supervisor is responsible for supervision of a team of ground service personnel who are moving, loading, unloading, and servicing aircraft, as well as the coordination of ground equipment and procedures.
This process is currently scheduled for an evening to early morning operation. The operation is conducted 7-days per week. Work on the weekend may be required.

Pay Range:

This position qualifies for the Loyalty Incentive Program bonus paid out quarterly in the amount of $2 per hour worked not including PTO or holiday pay.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise the ramp agents responsible for loading/unloading cargo onto/from aircraft.
  • Provide guidance on proper weight distribution and secure stowage of cargo.
  • Oversee the marshaling and guidance of aircraft using hand signals and visual aids.
  • Ensure safe and accurate positioning of aircraft during taxiing, parking, and maneuvering.
  • Manage the efficient handling of equipment during onload and offload processes.
  • Supervise the operation of various ground support equipment, including aircraft tugs, pushback tractors, and towing vehicles.
  • Coordinate essential services for aircraft, such as refueling, lavatory servicing, water replenishment, and cabin conditioning.
  • Ensure aircraft are prepared for flight in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Enforce adherence to all safety regulations and guidelines on the ramp.
  • Promptly report any safety hazards or incidents and implement corrective measures.
  • Maintain effective communication with ramp agents, ground crew, and flight crews.
  • Coordinate activities to ensure smooth aircraft movement and efficient operations.
  • Supervise efforts to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the ramp area.
  • Ensure the area is free from debris, foreign object damage, and other hazards.
  • Provide training to ramp agents on proper handling procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of ramp agents, providing feedback and addressing any performance issues.
  • Implement improvements to enhance efficiency and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects, bend, and stand for extended periods.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate effectively with other ground personnel and flight crews.
  • Flexibility to work in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and adverse weather situations.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as airport operations are 24/7.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Physical Requirements:
The work requires routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than fifty pounds. Moving items over fifty pounds will be done using team lift. Must meet physical lifting requirements of 50 lbs.
