Position Overview
SCOPE OF ROLE:
The Support Services functions at S:US are carried out by a team of professionals with differing backgrounds who share deeply in the S:US mission. We provide resources and support to the program departments to collectively pursue that mission. Support Services is a collegial, supportive and dynamic culture that continuously seeks to improve. As a Quality Improvement Associate, you will be joining a dynamic department that protects the organization as well as the people we serve. As the Quality Improvement Associate, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and maintaining the quality standards across the organization to ensure cohesiveness and consistency. You will conduct multiple site visits throughout the year to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates and uphold the quality of services we provide here at S:US. Responsibilities include participating in internal audits, identifying areas for improvement, and assisting with the development and implementation of Corrective Action Plans when deficiencies are identified. You will work collaboratively with various departments to foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Audits/Reviews
  • Conduct multiple site visits throughout the year to assess compliance with regulatory mandates.
  • Participate in and lead internal audits to identify areas of non-compliance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Evaluate the quality of services provided to the individuals we serve.
  • Document audit findings and present comprehensive reports to senior management.
  • Conduct follow-up audits to confirm corrective actions have been implemented and are effective.
  • Help to develop audit tools to be used in various audits/reviews.

Staff Training
  • Develop and deliver training programs to staff on quality improvement processes and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure that training is consistent across all departments and aligned with organizational goals.

Compliance Monitoring:
  • Provide technical assistance to staff when questions arise regarding service delivery, documentation requirements or other compliance-related issues.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain audit schedules and checklists.
  • Develop, review, analyze and improve internal controls and monitoring systems for various programs/departments.
  • Identify compliance risk areas and assist with the development and implementation of policies and corrective action plans were indicated.
  • Attending inter-departmental meetings representing the quality assurance department to ensure compliance with regulatory mandates.
  • Attend external meetings and trainings representing the agency at various trade associations
  • Perform other duties as required.

Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree required in related field, together with minimum of two (2) years of experience in the healthcare or non-profit field.
  • Must be willing to:

  • Travel extensively in all the boroughs
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Audit experience preferred.
  • In lieu of bachelor's degree, High School Diploma or equivalent with minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the healthcare or non-profit field.
