The Opportunity (Job Purpose):

Are you ready to make a visible impact? The Purchasing Coordinator will place orders for parts inventory, equipment, tools, supplies, and services. Additionally, the Purchasing Coordinator will assist in vendor negotiations and conduct analytical research into vendor usage, inventory turns, and other key metrics.


Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.


What You'll Do Day-to-Day (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):

  • Monitor all inventory control processes to include all branch stock purchases, planning and parameter changes, excess inventory reduction and redistribution, stock and nonstock report, backorder reports, and open purchase order maintenance.
  • Monitor and work to improve all applicable KPIs regarding inventory functionality.
  • Process all daily parts inventory orders for all locations in the JX network
  • Review open PO's and discrepancies. Work with branches and vendors to resolve.
  • Initiate vendor returns or inter-branch transfers of no movement inventory.
  • Work with key personnel to identify and develop technological or other solutions which will simplify and improve the efficiency of JX purchasing practices
  • Assist in tracking and attainment of all vendor purchase incentive programs.
  • Assist in new vendor selection, implementation and consolidation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and leadership to continuously cultivate positive experiences for our customers.
  • Perform other dynamic duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business 

What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Skills):

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or Business Administration preferred or a combination of education and experience will be considered. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in parts distribution, ideally within heavy/medium-duty or automotive environments preferred. 
  • Strong background in inventory theory, data extraction, and actionable analytics required. 
  • Proficiency with computer software required and Google applications preferred. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required. 
  • Curious, continuous learner with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong integrity.
  • Adaptable, open to investigating and implementing new ideas and processes.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • A curious mindset with an entrepreneurial "pioneering spirit," strong integrity, and a passion for continuous professional development.
