is a premier electrical contracting firm serving the Automotive, Heavy Industrial, and Mission Critical sectors. We specialize in both ground-up construction and major renovations, managing electrical packages ranging from small service work to multi-million-dollar installations.
Slifco Electric is seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to support procurement operations across multiple electrical construction projects. This individual will play a key role in managing material purchasing, vendor relationships, cost control, and delivery coordination to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
The Purchasing Agent works closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Superintendents, and vendors to proactively manage material procurement and mitigate supply chain risks.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead purchasing and procurement activities for electrical construction projects.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and material requests to ensure accurate purchasing.
  • Generate, manage, and track purchase orders in alignment with project budgets and schedules.
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality materials.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and purchasing terms with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Estimators, and field leadership regarding material requirements and lead times.
  • Monitor material deliveries and proactively resolve delays or discrepancies.
  • Track procurement costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation.
  • Support forecasting of material needs across active projects.
  • Assist in developing and improving purchasing processes and standards.

What We're Looking For:
  • 3+ years of purchasing or procurement experience within electrical or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical materials and construction procurement practices.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
