Plant Overview:

3-Shift Operation

Non- Union Facility with approximately 200 hourly staff members which are a mix of temporary and full-time associates.

100% Food Service, 4 bag soup lines, 1 tub line, 18 Kettles, 5 Filling lines, and 4 packaging lines.

Products include Frozen Soups and Macaroni & Cheese

Company History: Kraft Heinz in Cedar Rapids started as Ashby Soups and was originated in the mid 1980's by Jamie and Shannon Ashby, along with their mother, using family held recipes for many kinds of soups. In the 1990s' the name was changed to Quality Chef Foods. Heinz acquired Quality Chef foods in the mid 2000's. In 2015 Kraft and Heinz merged to become Kraft Heinz as we know it today.

Order and maintain inventories pertaining to ingredients to meet production needs. Ensure arrival of materials are just in time to meet production needs.

Responsibilities & Duties:
  • Order and maintain inventories on ingredients
  • Communicate closely with production, warehouses, and corporate transportation group to assure on-time deliveries.
  • Follow up on all issues with corporate procurement daily.
  • Assist production Planner on special projects pertaining to ingredients
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge: High school education or equivalent; computer literate; communicate effectively.
  • Experience: 2 or more years of procurement experience in materials planning and ordering.
  • Must possess good math and computer skills.
  • Learn and work in the SAP and other systems
  • Work within an Inventory Lot Control Environment
  • Work with and have good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Cross train with others in your department to back up in case of absences.
  • Work within an Inventory Lot Control environment.
  • Handle stressful situations.
  • Troubleshoot issues with little supervision.
  • Display a professional attitude.

Communicate clearly in person, by phone and in writing.

Analyze, research, and resolve problems, with good follow-up skills.

Focus and pay attention to detail.

Learn to run and understand Queries and Reports.

Flexible to cover all shifts as needed.

  • Responsible for following all food safety policies and safety procedures.
  • Responsible for Q-RMP standards implementation as defined by the accountability list document
