Job description

Job Title: Senior Project Management Support Specialist
Location: Holloman AFB - Alamogordo, NM
Canvas is seeking a qualified individual to provide advisory and assistance services to the Air Force in project/program management efforts associated with specific test needs at the Holloman Engineering Development Center (AEDC) at Holloman AFB, NM. The candidate will provide a wide range of services including procurement support, contract administration assistance, and records management/administrative support for a variety of planning and executing projects.
Duties:
  • Documenting project scope, objectives, KPPs, and KSAs.
  • Working knowledge of project phases (Initiation, Planning, Design, Execution, and Closeout).
  • Monthly project review briefings to our Air Force customer.
  • Working with finance to develop project spend plans.
  • Holding weekly/bi-weekly meetings for project updates.
  • Advise the Air Force of any project disconnects, risks, opportunities, and overall progress.
  • Define and document project requirements and deliverables through direct stakeholder engagement.
  • Managing complex projects of all sizes.
  • Knowledge/Familiarity of project acquisition strategy and key program events such as decision points, reviews, contract award, Contract Line-Item Number (CLIN) structure.
  • Follow a structured system engineering approach that facilitates project milestone reviews including but not limited to; Integrated Baseline Review (IBR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Verification Readiness Review (VRR), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Functional Configuration Audit (FCA), and Physical Configuration Audit (PCA).
  • Assess contractor documentation against project requirements.
  • Ensuring all documentation is in place and stored in proper repository.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Developing contingency plans to minimize risks and keep projects on track.
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution across all locations.
  • Mentor, lead, and train younger PMs on the team

Requirements:
PMP certification (desirable)
Minimum Education:
  • PM3 - Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field OR substitution as described below.
  • PM4 - Master's Degree in Business or related field OR substitution as described below.
  • SME - Recognized as an industry leader in field of expertise.

Minimum Experience:
  • PM3 3-10 years of experience
  • PM4 10+ years of experience

Security Clearance:
Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret clearance.
Other Essential Job Functions:
  • Highly organized with excellent communication skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • 5-10% travel may be required
