The mission of this role is to provide accurate, reliable and timely financial record-keeping, ensuring the organization's financial health and success. Through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to accounting principles, you maintain transparent and organized financial records. By delivering timely and comprehensive financial reports, you enable the CEO to make informed decisions and support the growth and sustainability of Xenios. With integrity and professionalism, you are dedicated to building trust and confidence in the financial management processes, allowing Xenios to thrive and achieve its goals.
As a Staff Accountant, the primary tasks and outcomes you are expected to achieve include:
  • Recording Financial Transactions to the GL: accurately record all financial transactions of the business, sales, purchases, receipts, and payments. This involves maintaining the journals, ledgers, and series posting our financial data in a systematic routine manner.
  • Closing each month by the 10th of the following month
  • Closing each year by the last day of February
  • Reconciling Bank Statements: You need to reconcile the company's bank statements with its financial records to ensure that all transactions are accounted for accurately. This involves identifying discrepancies, resolving any issues, and ensuring the balance in the books matches the bank statement.
  • Generating Financial Reports: You are expected to prepare financial reports, such as income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and submit these reports to our CFO Scoreboard as required. These reports provide insights into the company's financial health and help in decision-making.
  • Monitoring Cash Flow: You need to closely monitor the cash flow of the business, tracking incoming and outgoing funds to ensure sufficient liquidity. This involves daily update of cash flow forecasts (the cash plan), managing petty cash, and analyzing cash position to identify any potential issues or opportunities.
  • Maintaining Compliance: It is crucial to adhere to relevant financial regulations and standards while maintaining financial records. This includes ensuring accurate tax calculations and timely filing of tax returns, following accounting principles, and staying updated on any changes in financial reporting requirements.
  • Assisting in Audits: When required, you may be responsible for supporting internal or external auditors by providing the necessary documentation and explanations. This helps ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information and compliance with audit requirements.
