Controller - (Internal Title - CAS Consulting Manager) Looking for variety, flexibility, and meaningful client work. Join our Client Accounting Services (CAS) Team. Whether you're currently working in public accounting or industry, this is your chance to take your experience to the next level with exciting projects and a diverse mix of clients.

As part of our Client Accounting Services team (consulting), you'll enjoy the best of both worlds - the opportunity to work on-site and/or virtually, all while being a valued full-time or part-time Insero employee. In this client-facing role, you'll build strong relationships and collaborate with professionals at all levels - both within our firm and in the organizations we serve. If you're looking for variety in your day-to-day and the chance to make a real impact, we'd love to connect with you.

*We are currently seeking accounting professionals who can support our client groups. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Depending on the specific client assignments, we offer a hybrid work model where one has the flexibility to work remotely some days, on-site at client locations and/or in our office - allowing for a balanced and adaptable work environment.

Location: Rochester, NY office. *For most of our positions at Insero, one can work in the office every day or if you like, in a hybrid structure working up to 3 days from home. *Our space offers modern amenities including collaborative work areas, a recreation room, and firm-paid underground parking in a secure garage.

Plus, we're just steps away from some of the city's best restaurants, entertainment, and events. Client Accounting Services: Our Client Accounting Services Group has been around for over 20 years and is made up of dedicated personnel whose only assignments are supporting our client base. We are full-time CPAs, CMAs, Accountants and Business Managers.

We understand the issues that Controllers and CFOs face every day - and our technology, experience and flexibility add real value. Accounting Consulting for us is not something that fills our downtime; it is our focus all year long. Our services range from bookkeeping to budgeting and forecasting.

Our Client Accounting Services Team ensures our clients have the information and advice they require to run their business/organization. Responsibilities: (would vary based on the specific client engagements that change during the year) Project based accounting work for various local clients. Managing client's full financial statement reporting process including cash flow and disclosures.

Assisting with supervising the accounting department at various clients or internal accounting staff. Depending on engagement may assist with setting up, processing or managing A/P, A/R, payroll, prepare bank reconciliations, etc. Analyzing general ledger process, identify and clean up any account errors.

Managing short-term/long-term cash flow needs. Communicating reporting requirements with clients and banks. Assessing client's accounting needs and creating proposals if necessary.

Setting up the accounting ledgers or systems for emerging businesses. Reviewing outstanding receivables and analyze allowance for doubtful accounts. Updating and maintaining clients' annual operating plan/budgets.

Coordinating all accounting efforts with external auditors, tax preparers, supervision of staff, and regular communications with owners and financial institutions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting along with a minimum of six years accounting/month close responsibilities (two of those years working in an accounting management controller type role) is required. Industry accounting experience in service, manufacturing, or distribution is preferred.

Experience working in a public accounting firm is highly recommended. Experience with QuickBooks/Intacct and/or other accounting systems are required. Strong communication and relationship building skills are necessary.

The ideal candidate must be able to meet deadlines, be proactive and have solid multi-tasking skills. Possess strong analytical skills and have a solid business knowledge as it relates to operations and procedures. CPA or CMA is a plus, but not required.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $95,000-$120,000 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is base pay only and does not consider other components that makeup the total rewards package for the position such as eligibility to receive discretionary management bonus incentives. This range is a reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position.

Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, and/or education and geographic location. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the capabilities and experience of the candidate. Incentives, if any, depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and firm performance.

Benefits We offer competitive salaries, an outstanding paid time off program (5 weeks), 16 paid holidays, remote/hybrid work flexibly, 401(k) plan with firm contributions, tuition reimbursement program, 100% employer paid parking, spot bonus program, CPA bonus, a variety of different medical plan options along with opt-out dollars if you do not need medical ins coverage.
