Job description

GVI Inc., a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC, and a Federal Government Contractor industry leader, is seeking a Project Control Analyst to join our Team in Norfolk, Virginia.
Position Overview:
Under general supervision and in accordance with established policies and procedures, the Project Control Analyst will support the management and administration of multiple contracts supporting the government. This role will monitor project financials and provide support to various Program Managers.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the project structure, cost accruals, billings and financial reporting.
  • Responsible for project setups and able to understand requirements of a government contract.
  • Ensure invoices are billed in accordance with contract requirements and reconciles billings for each CLIN as required.
  • Prepare monthly project accruals, acting as liaison between Accounting personnel and Project Managers to ensure all monthly expenses are accounted for.
  • Analyze actual costs and understand if improper cost allocations have occurred on assigned projects; assist in correcting as needed
  • Maintain project tracking spreadsheets to record actuals and forecast.
  • Analyze, understand and report on assigned unbilled balances when needed
  • Ensure the accurate and timely reporting of all assigned projects related financial information.
  • Review, code and submit supplier invoices and voucher corrections to Accounts Payable, as needed.
  • Assist Project Managers in preparation of monthly revenue forecasts and CDRLs
  • Review of contract funding levels for contract-required limitation of funds notifications.โ€ข
  • Provide assistance on pricing existing and new opportunities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
  • US Citizenship
  • BS/BA degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience required.
  • Two years of project control experience
  • Deltek CostPoint Project Control Experience is required.
  • Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (GAR) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred
  • Understanding of revenue recognition concepts preferred
  • Must be detail oriented and able to work within specified deadlines.
  • Strong personal computer skills, including detailed working knowledge of Excel capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communications, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and requirements.
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Clear ability to take ownership of issues and pursue potential resolutions through to completion.
  • Able to work both independently and in a team environment.
