Job Summary:

The Project Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to ensure successful execution. This role collaborates with project managers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to track progress, identify potential risks, and ensure project milestones are met on time. The Project Planner plays a key role in optimizing resource allocation and improving project efficiency through data-driven planning and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, timelines, and work breakdown structures (WBS).
  • Coordinate with project managers and teams to ensure alignment on project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and provide proactive recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Analyze resource allocation to optimize efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Utilize project management software to track schedules, dependencies, and risks.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, timelines, and potential impacts to stakeholders.
  • Support risk management efforts by identifying potential scheduling conflicts and mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the development of project planning standards, best practices, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with procurement, engineering, finance, and other departments to ensure cohesive project execution.
  • Facilitate project planning meetings and contribute to project documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or a related field, or combination of experience and education.
  • Experience: 3+ years in project planning, scheduling, or project management.
  • Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with CI Poly
  • Minimum Skills Required:
  • Strong proficiency in project scheduling and planning techniques.
  • Experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Ability to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in project scheduling and resource planning.
  • Experience with risk assessment and mitigation planning.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, or other project management methodologies.
  • Background in engineering, construction, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2, or similar) is a plus.


Work environment:

  • This role operates in an office setting with occasional visits to project sites as needed.
  • May require extended periods of sitting, working at a computer, and attending meetings.

Work Schedule:
