Job description

An international automotive parts manufacturing company is currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to support their operations in the Novi, Michigan area. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 +years’ work experience in project / engineering management, preferably in an automotive manufacturing environment. This is a full-time and direct hire position.


* Occasional visits to customer sites (domestic and international) and the company facility may be required on an as-needed basis. *


Project Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintain documentation regarding project status, engineering changes, product information, etc.
  • Communicate with customers in regarding projects and provide status updates
  • Creation of department / project activity reports for internal use
  • Act as point of contact for customers to address any urgent questions, requests, or issues
  • Projecting potential inventory, material, and manpower needs for projects
  • Assist with budget planning and cost reduction analysis
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings with internal employees and customers regarding project status
  • Responsible for whole process for program launch including product development
  • Other duties as assigned


Project Manager Requirements Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical Engineering field is preferred
  • Minimum 5years’ work experience in Program / Project Coordination, quality management etc., preferably within the automotive manufacturing industry’
  • Project launch experience with Ford is preferred
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal communication ability in a multicultural environment
  • Experience with PPAP, APQP, DFMEA
  • Experience with powertrain product will be a plus
  • Good computer skills with specific proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Organizational and time management ability
  • This position includes manufacturing and warehousing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
