Job description

Job Title: Project Engineer- Tyndall AFB
Work Location: Panama City, FL
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for observation and reporting on assigned projects to government personnel.
  • Oversees construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Analyzes design and construction issues with respect to contract requirements.
  • Delivers recommendations regarding compliance to contract provisions and exercises engineering judgment to assist in the development of solutions between conflicting plan details or requirements which become evident as construction progresses.
  • Make technical interpretations of drawings and specifications; provide engineering determinations on meeting the contract requirements.
  • Review submittals, respond to contractor questions, RFIs, construction deficiencies, project issues, requests for equitable adjustment, and claims.
  • Assist in preparing documents for change orders and claims.
  • Reviews schedule items and pay applications to ensure balance with percentages for each corresponding work feature or component of work.
  • Reviews contractor's submittals including QA and Safety Plans.
  • Provides field surveillance and delivers daily detailed reports.
  • Reviews drawings and specifications.
  • Assists in preparation of scope of work modifications and cost estimates.
  • Provides safety oversight.
  • Utilize Resident Management System (RMS).

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 10 years of experience on large complex multimillion dollar federal construction projects, preferably Department of Defense
  • Facilities experience with administrative buildings, airfield facilities and apron, barracks, water and electrical systems, and roadways.
  • Experience with Three-Phase QC/Inspection process
  • Experience preferred EM 385-1-1 USACE Safety Manual
  • Experience with Resident Management System (RMS)
