P6 (Primavera 6) Project Scheduler – Electric Utilities

We are looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable P6 Project Scheduler to support electric utility infrastructure projects. This role is primarily responsible for applying appropriate project access and permissions, standardizing and implementing global codes, calendars, IDs, etc., and supporting the maintenance and management of the Oracle database by assisting with system updates, ensuring platform performance and stability, and providing technical support to internal stakeholders.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes systems for automation opportunities and identifies security or permission issues to ensure system stability, compliance, and adherence to policies.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to refine best practices and communicates effectively regarding system updates, custom builds, and risk management.
  • Performs routine system audits, identifies any access or cyber security issues, and reports findings to the management team for resolution.
  • Manages user access assignments and administrative accounts, ensuring compliance with company IT and cyber security standards and protocols.
  • Provides system-wide extracts or data flows to support dashboarding, reporting, and data analytics needs.
  • Maintains quality control over the platform database and ensures adherence to company guidelines and best practices. Creates and maintains system documentation within the company’s network and SharePoint site.
  • Standardize global data and ensure compliance with Company processes and procedures
  • Integrates processes into standard operating procedures (SOPs) and manages system change logs. Ensures systems are integrated with platforms such as SharePoint, SAP, Oracle, PowerApps, AWS, and more.
  • Prepare and develop project schedules
  • Generate reports
  • Update project schedules on a weekly or as needed basis
  • Lead schedule review sessions
  • Review and verify all project related scheduling information
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all department, employees, clients, architects, subcontractors and vendors
  • Participate in lessons learned process
  • Provides timely technical support to system users, addressing inquiries and troubleshooting system-related issues.
  • Act as liaison between end users and software support
  • Responsible for version updates and mitigating any impact to end users
  • With Project Teams:

-Provide support to project teams

-Prepare a Schedule Summary Reports

-Ensure all projects include a BASELINE

-Provide scheduling assistance and education to project team members

-Review, monitor and advise on the accuracy of assigned schedules

-Creates and updates program and project team systems, including subsequent versions, ensuring quality control and system performance within the assigned portfolio.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency on scheduling programs Primavera P6 (EPPM, PPM, and Web)
  • Experience with monitoring, controlling and updating project schedules
  • Skills in reviewing schedules including identifying, analyzing, and solving schedule related issues
  • Highly analytical
  • Basic understanding of information systems, technology functions, and applications.
  • Understanding of basic IT security practices and policies, including access management and audit processes.
  • Ability to provide guidance to Client and users on best practices and operational efficiencies
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure systems are maintained and run smoothly.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and support colleagues with routine tasks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Capable of explaining complex technical issues in simple terms.

Requirements:


  • BS or BA Degree in Construction or Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a closely related field preferred or 2-5 years experience in large scale infrastructure projects.
  • 3+ years of prior experience with P6 (Primavera 6) Scheduler
  • Regulated utility industry experience preferred.
  • Travel up to 10%
