POSITION
Technical Project Manager - R&D Projects
Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Technical Project Manager to lead and oversee research and development Cloud initiatives from concept through completion. This role is responsible for managing project scope, timeline, budget, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with strategic organizational objectives. The Project Manager will work cross-functionally with product development, engineering, operations, finance, and executive leadership teams to deliver innovative solutions on time and within budget.
This is a full-time, remote position that reports directly to the business unit leader of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop, implement, and maintain detailed project plans including timelines, milestones, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Define project scope and objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
- Lead project kick-offs, regular status meetings, and post-project reviews.
- Track project progress and deliverables through established project management tools and reporting systems.
Budget & Financial Oversight
- Establish and manage project budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting variances.
- Ensure all project expenditures align with approved budgets and company financial policies.
- Provide quarterly budget summaries and variance analyses to leadership teams.
Communication & Reporting
- Serve as the central point of contact for project-related communication across departments.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for leadership review.
- Facilitate quarterly strategic reviews, providing updates on project status, key milestones, risks, and opportunities.
Risk & Issue Management
- Proactively identify project risks, issues, and dependencies, developing mitigation and contingency plans.
- Escalate critical issues promptly and facilitate resolution with appropriate stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the refinement of R&D project management processes, tools, and best practices.
- Analyze project outcomes to identify lessons learned and opportunities for future improvement.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree required. Prefer Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field .
- 5+ years of experience managing Cloud, product development, or technical projects preferred.
- Experience working in a cross-functional team environment with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Cloud and product development life cycles.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, organization, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, or similar).
- Fluency in technical software development terminology and tasks from a high level
- PMP or similar certification preferred.
