Job description

This position includes a $2,000 hiring bonus, with $1,000 paid after 30 days and the remaining $1,000 after 120 days.

Overseeing the day-to-day program planning and implementation; serving as the primary caseworker and advocate for a caseload of up to 12 LyTE program tenants; performing outreach presentations with the assistance of CSE1 staff; receiving and accepting referrals for the Program; conducting intake interviews; assisting Apartments at the Lyceum staff in enrolling tenants in the program; finalizing Safety Plans for each tenant; assisting new tenants in gathering documentation for apartment applications/leases and 3rd party screenings/verifications; help setting/verifying ESSHI subsidy levels; help enrolling tenants in benefits/entitlements to supplement income/rent; resolving conflicts between tenants and Apartment Management; assisting survivors to develop and facilitate peer support groups and the LyTE Advisory Committee; with support from the Economic Empowerment Specialist, collecting and analyzing LyTE performance measurement data; and supervising the work of the Economic Empowerment Specialist, the Desk Attendant and program contractors as needed.

  • Intensive casework includes conducting assessments to help survivors set goals and outcomes for self-sufficiency, safety-related empowerment, and community integration.
  • Convening case conferences with survivors to monitor progress in attaining goals and addressing emerging needs.
  • Providing linkage, referral and accompaniment to counseling/treatment, health, childcare, transportation, and public benefit services (e.g., SSI, SNAP) that fit individual goals, preferences, cultures and support needs.
  • Responsible for developing Safety Plans. Safety planning services will create individualized and practical Safety Plans for survivors to maintain control over their physical and emotional safety.
  • Support group facilitation services to assist interested tenants and/or survivors in the community to organize and run confidential peer-led support groups.
  • As appropriate, The Program Coordinator will train the Desk Attendant on strategies/procedures contained in confidential Safety Plans to ensure the wellbeing of tenants.
  • Counseling services and support to include (a) providing crisis intervention/emergency counseling (b) referring and accompanying tenants to trauma-informed mental health providers that meet assessed support needs.
  • Develop plans with LyTE survivors that include strategies for drawing on appropriate support in times of crisis including how to make emergency contacts with agency staff, law enforcement, attorneys, and crisis hotlines.
  • Housing navigation services to include identifying housing opportunities that meet survivors' goals for autonomy; advocating with public/private housing services providers to enable survivors to secure preferred housing opportunities; helping to prepare housing applications and understand and tenants' rights; ensuring survivors obtain and repair reports relating to credit, rental and criminal history background checks.
  • Plays an advocacy role that includes (a) explaining victims' rights and legal options for holding abusers accountable; (b) working with survivors to pursue court petitions (e.g., petitions for orders of protection); (c) helping survivors to navigate the civil/criminal legal system.
  • Ensures follow-up services to include support such as (a) monthly meetings to confirm safety and stability have been sustained and (b) the development of a post-program Safety Plan.
  • Provides supervision and training to direct reports.
  • Ensures compliance with all funding and grant requirements.
  • Executes and/or coordinates the execution of any required deliverables of grant funded services.
  • Ensures compliance with agency and program quality assurance standards and procedures.
  • Reviews and approves travel reimbursement, program expenses, and benefit time for employees under direct supervision.
  • Completes necessary reports, correspondence and other documents regarding programs and individuals served.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises the LyTE Economic Empowerment Specialist and LyTE Desk Attendant.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Will usually work normal business hours. May be required to address emergency situations during evening or weekend hours.

2. Minimal local travel required.
