The Program Assistant provides clerical and program support to Thrive Wellness Program and the Food Pantry in our Center for Supportive Services. The Program Assistant will assist patients in the THRIVE program with their needs, and will help THRIVE Wellness staff facilitate educational and supportive sessions in line with program goals. The Program Assistant will also help the Pantry Coordinator with bagging groceries, disseminating groceries to patients, performing pantry intakes, and organizing inventory and documentation. The Program Assistant performs data entry, front desk support, and administrative support to the department.

As part of the essential functions of the role, the Program Assistant:

  • Processes incoming program referrals and inputs data entry of client demographics, group encounters, and any other documentation for patient services through data entry and scheduling of initial appointment
  • Assists staff in facilitating educational and supportive services in both group and individual settings in THRIVE Wellness
  • Assists staff with scheduling and checking in patient appointments for intakes, assessments and programming activities.
  • Provides administrative assistance to the Director of Health & Wellness and Health & Wellness Counselor as requested or required for program functionality, including maintaining supply orders for the THRIVE Wellness Program
  • Provides direct assistance to the Food Pantry by bagging groceries, disseminating groceries to patients, performing pantry intakes, and organizing inventory and documentation.
  • Provides phone support, answering incoming calls and providing phone reminders to patients as needed
  • Inputs data into applicable database systems for all assigned programs to facilitate accurate tracking and timely reporting of program data
  • Updates and maintains client information in various electronic charting and database systems, including Medent

Qualified Candidate will have an Associate's degree in Health and Wellness, Human Services, or related field and one (1) year of experience, preferably in a non profit setting (degree preferred, but extensive experience may be considered in lieu of degree); candidate must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally, and demonstrate ability to work independently and exercise effective time-management skills; candidate must demonstrate familiarity with computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word), effective organizational skills and attention to detail; Ability to maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) in a confidential manner required; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential

Education: Associate Degree in Health and Wellness, Human Services, or related field preferred; may consider extensive experience in lieu of degree

Experience: one year experience in related field required; experience in a non-profit setting preferred
