Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Program Manager 3for a Hypersonics Program in our Propulsion Systems Business Unit atPromontory, Utah.


Role & Responsibilities:
The Program Manager will support program implementation and execution. Emphasis is in communication with external and internal customers and functional organizations, and overall management of group financial and contract commitments. The position is located 50% at the Bacchus (Magna) Site and 50% at Promontory Site as part of the Strategic Systems Program (SSP) Operating Unit. Overall, the Program Manager will be responsible for executing existing programs and developing and executing business growth strategies. The Program Manager must also be able to frequently travel to Promontory, Clearfield, and Bacchus sites.

  • Lead endtoend program execution across scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and profit & loss, continuously driving results and challenging the status quo.

  • Apply working knowledge of energetic materials, solid rocket motors, and related components to resolve technical and operational issues and keep programs on plan.

  • Serve as the primary company-customer interface, representing Northrop Grumman, balancing customer/NG/employee interests, resolving issues within contractual, legal, regulatory, and business objectives, and leading customer working groups.

  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and mentoring to a crossfunctional program team (contracts, finance, OPM, supply chain, scheduling, engineering, mission assurance, safety, operations), managing priorities, conflict, change to baselines, and performance.

  • Own schedule management through integrated master schedules, factory schedules, and Earned Value Management to meet key milestones and master program plans.

  • Manage program financial performance including budgeting, forecasting, monthly reviews, and aligning actions to maximize award fees.

  • Support contract structuring, negotiations, pricing, changes, and issue resolution.

  • Drive technical excellence by setting standards, partnering with technical leaders and OPMs, and balancing technical risk and performance.

  • Lead business development by leveraging existing programs, and managing compliant, competitive proposals (new, followon, and changes) aligned to Northrop Grumman strategy.

  • Influence and communicate effectively (written and verbal) with all levels of the organization and customers; travel 20-25% as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business field with 10+ years supporting US Government contracts or customers

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience leading multidisciplinary teams

  • Experience working in aerospace manufacturing

  • Experience in delivering results to the bottom line and managing change

  • Experience in cost and schedule controls, including IMS management

  • Past profit/loss accountability

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of solid rocket design, motor development, and production

  • Familiarity with Promontory, Bacchus and Clearfield Value Streams

  • Understanding of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and their application to Propulsion Systems programs

  • Experience integrating Operation Program Management (OPM) concepts with Propulsion Systems program execution

  • Working knowledge of U.S. Army and U.S. Navy programs and products relevant to missile and hypersonic systems

  • In-depth understanding of customer requirements, both technical and financial, to ensure customer needs are met

  • Familiarity and experience managing ITAR-controlled data

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
