Job description

We are seeking a Benefits Coordinator for one of our clients in the hospitality industries, from classic and modern luxury full service hotels, to fine dining and entertainment in the San Juan area.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee leave programs (e.g., FMLA, maternity/paternity, SINOT, Workers' Compensation, short-term disability), ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, claims, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain and update employee benefit records in HRIS, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Communicate benefits offerings clearly to new hires and existing employees; conduct benefits orientations as needed.
  • Co-administer employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support annual open enrollment processes.
  • Liaise with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues and maintain service standards.
  • Monitor benefits eligibility and process enrollments and terminations in a timely manner.
  • Assist in internal audits and compliance reporting (e.g., COBRA, Health Plan, Retirement Plan, ACAA, Workers' Compensation, SINOT).
  • Stay informed on relevant local and federal benefits regulations and ensure HR policies are updated accordingly.
  • Create and distribute employee-facing benefits communications, including guides, FAQs, and notices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee data and handle sensitive matters professionally.
