In 2019, Ward Home joined the Auberle family and has three programs in our Young Adult Services Department.
Program Description:
The Employment Institute, Auberle's nationally recognized workforce development program, places unemployed and underemployed individuals in career jobs, not just training. Our passionate, mission-driven team supports individuals in overcoming any barrier to employment impacting our participants, their families, and future generations. Because of our holistic model, 84% of our participants remain in employment for six months or more, a long-term indicator of success in the workplace. Auberle's Employment Institute is the implementation partner of Achieving Change through Transitional Employment Services (ACTES) South Hilltop.
ACTES is an evidence-based, complex and resource-intensive program that aims to decrease violence involvement and recidivism with high-risk adult men by interrupting the social and economic influences of violence perpetration and victimization. Based on the Rapid Employment and Development Initiative (READI Chicago) model, ACTES combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), paid transitional jobs (TJ) and wraparound support services.
Position Title and Overview:
ACTES Program Assistant

  • Administrative & Program Support: Help with daily program tasks such as scheduling, data entry, organizing files, tracking expenses, and maintaining records.
  • Participant Support: Assist with onboarding new participants, collecting documents, tracking hours, and providing basic support during program activities.
  • Training & Group Assistance: Attend internal and external trainings and help prepare for and support group sessions; train in the program model and step in to assist with facilitation when needed.
  • Coordination & Team Support: Attend meetings, help with reports and events, follow program procedures, and support overall team operations.
Location and Travel Requirements:
This position is primarily located in the South Hilltop neighborhoods of Pittsburgh. All positions are also expected to come to training, meetings, and other events at Main Campus in McKeesport, as scheduled.
The travel required for this position is occasional.

Position Requirements:
  • Act 33/34 and FBI Clearances required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, HS diploma/GED accepted with related experience.
  • Valid PA driver's license, vehicle, registration, and proof of insurance.
  • Requires working varied hours, including evenings, some weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of the local South Hilltop community preferred, including the ecosystem of violence prevention, intervention, and reduction organizations and actors, as well as local supports and service providers preferred.
  • Individuals with criminal records and other lived experience are encouraged to apply.
