Alerts professional staff to significant irregularities.\r\n Implements prescribed treatment plans involving reality orientation, sensory stimulation, range of motion exercise, and application of splints/braces. Provides oral/written description of individual's physical/behavioral change.\r\n Observes individual activities providing oral/written report of unusual/hazardous behavior.\r\n Observes/supervises individuals within facility surroundings ensuring appropriate location/security.\r\n Escorts/is responsible for individuals traveling to social/recreational activities and medical appointments on/off campus.\r\n Participates on interdisciplinary care team providing information about the individual's overall physical condition, abilities, and behavioral characteristics.\r\n Applies appropriate interventions to prevent or de-escalate inappropriate behaviors.\r\n Assists individual with personal hygiene.\r\n Maintains individual surroundings ensuring appropriate infection control/sanitary conditions, care/storage of linens and clothing. \r\n\r\n

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Nursing Assistant\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas: \r\n\r\n Six months experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures. \r\n Knowledge of nursing procedures such as monitoring or recording temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration and nutritional intake/output. \r\n Knowledge of narrative report writing. \r\n\r\n

Conditions of Hire

All new hires are required to attend an in-person, statewide mandatory New Employee Orientation on their first day of employment. The session will be held at a designated location in either Kent or New Castle County.\r\n\r\nPre-employment Drug Testing: Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.\r\n\r\nCriminal background check: A satisfactory criminal background check is required as a condition of hire. The recruiting agency may require the applicant to pay for the criminal background check as part of the conditional offer of hire.\r\n\r\nAs part of the program requirements, applicants must successfully complete the program and earn their CNA certification through a state-approved school. Approved schools include Bear Institute, Delaware Skills Center, Sussex Tech, and all Delaware Technical Community College campuses.\r\nPlease note: You may be required to take an Accuplacer exam, at no cost to the applicant, in order to participate the program.
