Catapult Learning is seeking qualified candidates to serve in the part time role of Professional Development Specialist - Tennessee School Transformation, granting you the flexibility to serve leaders and teachers in critical areas of need in ways that suit your availability.
In this role, per diem employees will support the achievement of students by providing direct support to instructional leaders and teachers in assigned schools and systems. The Catapult Learning PD Specialist - leads whole or targeted school transformation initiatives at assigned school(s), coordinating efforts of the transformation team, including other Catapult Learning PD Specialists.
The PD Specialist leads efforts to design and execute a strategic transformation plan. The PD Specialist - Tennessee School Transformation is responsible for building strong relationships with district and school level leaders, fostering leadership team capacity, and promoting student achievement.
The PD Specialist helps the transformation team articulate desired outcomes with some or all of the five strands of our design for exemplary schools and ensures compliance and excellence in service delivery to drive consistently superior achievement gains.
Responsibilities
As a Professional Development Specialist with Catapult Learning, you will:
PD Specialists should be familiar with adopted leadership standards and the Attributes of the Catapult Learning 5 Strand Design for Exemplary Schools. Working with leaders and teachers on assigned PD projects, and under the direction of the Center for PD Excellence and regional Operations teams, PD Specialists support organizational change, professional growth, and student achievement:
  • Host dynamic and collaborative planning conferences that unleash the creative potential of educators.
  • Support leaders in school improvement planning and progress monitoring, following state requirements.
  • Conduct campus-based needs assessments and collaborate with leaders on school improvement planning.
  • Coach site-based leaders.
  • Coach, train, and mentor teachers individually/one-on-one.
  • Be knowledgeable in High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) resources
  • Craft creative example lessons that captivate students.
  • Design, customize and deliver interactive and engaging professional development workshops to meet unique school needs.
  • Research, model and support the implementation of effective instructional strategies to strengthen teaching and learning.
  • Foster a culture of active participation and vibrant open discussions.
  • Ensure all educator development is completed successfully.
  • Provide extensive and regular report documentation.
  • Communicate actively with directors regarding activities and collaborate on communications to schools/districts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
What we'll need from you:
The positive, enthusiastic Professional Development Specialist we seek has these qualifications.
  • Master's degree in education required.
  • Experience delivering professional development workshops to adult educators.
  • Experience coaching teachers and/or school leaders either cognitively, instructionally or within a specific content-area focus in mind.
  • Must include school turnaround experience/school transformation.
  • 10+ years of teaching experience
  • 5+ years of administration experience
  • Expertise in one or more areas: SPED, ELL, Math, and/or ELA is required
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office experience required.
  • Google Workspace experience required.
  • Experience with AI tools in education.
