Monday through Friday 8am - 5pm
Position Overview
The production support position involves receiving and organizing disassembled parts from the Dismantle Team, or breaking down smaller parts, ensuring proper placement and stocking within the warehouse. As a key supporting function to the Production department, the production support position plays a critical role in the success of the organization by enabling the Dismantle Team to focus more time on removing quality parts.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  1. Dismantle
  • Dismantle specific parts that were removed by the dismantle team, such as engines, transmissions, drivetrain accessories or tires, using various hand and power tools.
  • Reduce waste by identifying usable and non-usable parts.
  • Sort and process parts; recycle or dispose of damaged or worn-out parts in the appropriate manner.

2. Inventory Management
  • Ensure that all parts are accurately placed and stocked, using the warehouse management system or other tools, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage or loss.
  • Collaborates with Warehouse Associates and Production Manager to maintain accurate inventory levels, reporting any discrepancies, and suggests improvements to optimize inventory accuracy.
  • Meets Production team objectives.

3. Quality
  • Inspect parts for quality and defects; ensure only high-quality parts are retained for sale.
  • Reports any defects, damage, missing items, or discrepancies found to the Production Supervisor or Production Manager.

4. Safety
  • Utilize expertise in operating equipment to move heavy parts safely.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, environmental regulations, and company policies while performing duties.
  • Ensuring all equipment is properly inspected and following proper lifting and handling techniques to prevent injuries.
  • Wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Reports any issues to their supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment (keeping the dismantle bays and warehouse clean and organized, following safety procedures, and reporting any hazards or incidents)

5. Perform Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous automotive parts knowledge and experience are preferred.
  • Prior experience is not mandatory for the Production Support role, however, familiarity with warehouse or logistics environments, such as understanding inventory management and operating material handling equipment, would be beneficial.
  • Forklift Certification is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend orders, instructions, and other role-related items to accurately and timely complete the job functions.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate across teams and with customers.
  • Aptitude to learn new systems and software for the role.
  • Operates office equipment, such as fax machines, copiers, phone systems, cell phones, and scanners.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

  • Must be able to operate in the shop or dismantle area and the warehouse for the majority of the workday.
  • Work in an area equipped with drain tables, forklifts, chain hoists, and other tools as needed.
  • Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs ramps, and the like to move and stock parts.
  • Ability to use both hands regularly with enough dexterity to perform job duties.
  • May work indoors in the warehouse and occasionally outside in varying weather conditions.
  • Occasionally lift, move, and carry objects and materials up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Expected work hours are based on role and location
  • Ability to work occasional overtime as needed as determined by the employee's supervisor.
