Job description

Production Operations Manager

Lenexa, Kansas | First Shift | On-Site

Our client, a well-established manufacturing company with a tight-knit facility of approximately 50 team members in Lenexa, KS, is looking for a hands-on Production Operations Manager to lead and inspire a team of 10–15 people on first shift.

This isn't a desk job — you'll be on the floor, in the action, and making a real difference every day.

What You'll Do

You'll own the performance of your production line — driving continuous improvement, hitting strategic goals, and developing your team along the way. That means coaching, scheduling, quality oversight, budget management, and making sure safety and standards are always front and center. You're equally comfortable reading production data and having a real conversation with someone on your team about how to grow.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years in manufacturing operations, with at least 3 years leading a team
  • Solid lean manufacturing experience (standard work, 5S, Kanban, VSM, practical problem solving)
  • A coaching mindset — you build people up, not just manage output
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to connect daily decisions to bigger goals
  • Bachelor's degree required; Business or Engineering background preferred

Why It's Worth a Look

You'll be joining a stable, respected company in a role where your leadership truly matters. The facility is a manageable size — you'll know your team, have real influence, and see the results of your work. Competitive compensation, excellent benefits package, first shift schedule, and a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.

We are seeking local, commutable candidates only — relocation is not available for this position. Full job description available upon request.
