Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Registered Nurse (RN) to serve as a Weekend RN Manager in our long-term care facility. This position includes every weekend plus two weekday shifts, providing consistent clinical leadership across both high-need weekend periods and key weekdays. The RN Manager is responsible for overseeing nursing operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, supporting staff, and maintaining continuity of care for residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight of nursing operations during weekends and assigned weekday shifts
  • Supervise, support, and direct nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and nursing assistants
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality resident care in accordance with facility policies and federal/state regulations
  • Act as the primary clinical decision-maker during weekend shifts and a leadership resource during weekdays
  • Promote continuity of care by communicating weekend updates, concerns, and outcomes to weekday leadership team
  • Review, update, and ensure implementation of resident care plans and discharge plans
  • Oversee admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth and compliant transitions
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation, including charting, incident reports, and regulatory records
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident care
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, including reporting trends observed over weekends
  • Support survey readiness and assist with regulatory compliance during inspections or audits
  • Maintain census tracking and ensure required reports are completed and submitted
  • Escalate significant clinical, staffing, or operational concerns to leadership as needed

Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted RN license (state required)
  • Previous long-term care experience required; supervisory or management experience strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Working knowledge of state and federal nursing home regulations
  • Ability to work independently while ensuring strong coordination with the broader leadership team
