Job Description Designs, develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production
release. Serves as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the products are developed and
released to production

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Development

  • Implementation of roadmap, strategy, and business models for assigned product and manage product lifecycle

  • Understand new ways to tap into the evolving market/industry development and dynamics

  • Collaborate with Marketing groups of various user segments to identify opportunities for products across their segments

  • Market products to relevant business partners

  • Develop and maintain good knowledge of customer working practices in relation to the use of products and services

  • Undertake ongoing market and competitor intelligence/research to identify and evaluate the potential of new product / market / application opportunities

  • Act as the 'product champion' internally, providing support and training to Sales & Marketing through internal briefings, responding to adhoc queries and tenders and ensuring that accurate product information is maintained (e.g. Product Briefings, Features & Benefits analysis, competitor analysis, pricing, ROI and TCO models) Integrate consumer feedback into product design and enhancements

  • Identify areas of product differentiation

Product Management

  • Identify and manage launch of improvements to existing products
  • Work with relevant project managers to oversee all approved projects for own portfolio, ensuring that projects deliver the required features and benefits outlined in the business case on time and on budget and actively managing risks/issues that may occur to minimize their impact
  • Own the process for prioritizing defect fixes and small product enhancements to ensure that a good balance is achieved and that customer reported defects are assigned a suitable priority to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Review relevant user documentation and ensure that all changes to products are communicated clearly and fully to both internal and external customers to minimize queries raised
  • Manage product quality and cost Identify opportunities for cost reductions and quality improvements
  • Integrate consumer feedback into product design and enhancements
  • Work with Strategy & Operations to improve overall product quality
  • Measure and analyze existing products for opportunities to innovate and improve in features, positioning, price etc.
  • Aligns with other product houses on a regular basis to ensure alignment of products being developed.
  • Execute programs across applicable delivery platforms in coordination with Platform Management.

Product Delivery

  • Implement robust 'product launch' plans to ensure that each product meets its commercial objectives during its lifetime, working with Sales& Marketing to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Maintain a clear financial overview of product sales, revenues and numbers, development spend, etc. for individual products
  • Work with third parties where appropriate to ensure the long-term success of product suite
  • Work with Marketing to ensure that all related marketing collateral is clearly focused, with strong persuasive messaging and is consistentlymaintained
  • Work with Sales to identify early target customers for engagement, creating a plan to secure reference sites within a few months of the dateof release
  • Monitor the status of development projects supporting new features

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 3- 5 years in product development, preferably in Telco industry
