Procurement representatives find vendors for products and services needed by the company and negotiate vendor contracts. As a procurement representative, you prepare orders for your organization, review terms and conditions for obtaining the desired materials or service, and coordinates staff to receive the goods. Other job duties include monitoring supply and reordering to ensure stock is always available, analyzing market data to determine fair pricing for the products or services, and discovering new vendors. There are no formal education requirements to become a procurement representative, but many employers prefer candidates with an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or a related field.
