Process Technician

The Process Technician role is to serve as the leading operator of manufacturing production equipment within a department and to serve as the backup for the supervisor. The Process Technician will know and understand the operation and process of all of the machines within their department or operational area and will set up, troubleshoot, and help operate all equipment within that department or area.
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Set up, repair, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, ancillary equipment, and support equipment 

  • Understand the production process as it relates to Plastic Injection Molding, Thermoforming, and/or Plastic Extrusion 

  • Make required mold changes and process adjustments and complete color changes as required 

  • Monitor the automation of processes to ensure a quality production process 

  • Collect and inspect random shots from molding machines.  Use inspection procedures, specifications, and blueprints to determine disposition of parts 

  • Responsible for processing product and/or perform to the specifications determined by the Quality and Development teams 

  • Troubleshoot equipment, molding processes and cycles, mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and hydraulic issues and partner with maintenance as required 

  • Complete preventative maintenance requirements in coordination with the maintenance team 

  • Promote continuous quality improvement processes and implementing lean metrics 

  • Lead by example and performs all job duties in accordance with The HC Companies values  

  • Support all company policies and procedures 

  • Perform other administrative tasks and special projects as assigned 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • High school diploma and/or GED equivalent preferred 

  • Previous manufacturing experience required 

  • Previous experience with Plastic Injection Molding, Thermoforming, and/or Plastic Extrusion 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Demonstrate the ability to critical think and problem solve with relation to mechanical and production challenges 

  • Ability to work in a team-oriented work environment 

  • Must adhere to all safety guidelines and foster a safe work culture 

  • Must be able to accurately complete paperwork as needed
