Job description

Molding Process Technician

We are seeking an experienced Molding Process Technician to support precision injection molding operations. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and optimizing molding machines and auxiliary equipment while maintaining JST quality, safety, and production standards.

This position requires advanced technical knowledge of injection molding processes, tooling, and systematic molding methods, including RJG.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up, start, stop, and troubleshoot precision molding machines and auxiliary equipment

  • Perform mold installation and removal, material handling, and process startups

  • Clean, adjust, and maintain molding dies to meet quality specifications

  • Establish and document process conditions using systematic molding techniques

  • Adjust process parameters to maintain quality and production targets

  • Sample new molds and plastic resins

  • Use RJG to establish and validate molding processes

  • Perform preventative and minor maintenance on molding equipment

  • Conduct required quality checks and inspections using precision measuring equipment

  • Update molding boards with real-time production, priorities, and maintenance data

  • Support 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

  • Perform all responsibilities of Process Technician B & C


What We’re Looking For
  • Advanced knowledge of injection molding processes and tooling

  • Ability to make independent decisions related to quality, machine operation, and processing adjustments

  • Strong math skills including percentages, conversions, and basic geometry

  • Proficiency with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, comparators)

  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Strong multitasking and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking); Spanish a plus

  • Willingness to participate in ESL/SSL classes if required
