Job description

Winsert is seeking qualified candidates for a Process Engineering Technician!

This position supports production by improving manufacturing processes, troubleshooting machining issues, implementing engineering changes, validating new equipment, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Pay: $30 - $33 per hour depending on experience

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with Production, Product Engineering, Process Engineering, and Quality departments to develop, implement, and document new or improved manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce scrap, optimize cycle times, and enhance workplace safety.
  • Troubleshoot machining, grinding, and manufacturing processes using root cause analysis, process validation, and corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support new product introductions and process launches by developing manufacturing processes, creating work instructions, and implementing engineering changes.
  • Assist Maintenance with evaluating equipment performance, installing new equipment, and developing preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Collect, analyze, and document manufacturing process data to support process improvements and engineering decisions.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality, safety, and company standards.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Create or revise work instructions or other process documentation.
  • Maintain process / testing data.
  • Investigate quality concerns.
  • Support other engineering documentation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Must have time management skills, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Excel, MRP/ERP System, CNC Controls, CAD Software)
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, GD amp;T, specifications, tooling documentation.
  • Ability to read, understand, and make minor edits to CNC machining programs when needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability of using a variety of gaging equipment in support of engineering testing and data collection.
  • Strong analytical thinking and mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis.
  • Adaptability to ever-changing requirements with minimal interruption in normal workflow.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to actively move through production environment to work with staff.
  • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.
  • Hearing must be correctable to allow understanding of instructions and communication with others.
  • Mobility and coordination to allow for completion of required tasks.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum high school education.
  • Education in Manufacturing Technology and experience in CNC programming, lean manufacturing, CAD, and tooling optimization preferred.
