The HPump Engineering Manager leads the development and execution of engineering strategies for horizontal pump (HPump) product lines, with a primary focus on new product development (NPD), cost optimization initiatives, and engineer-to-order (ETO) solutions. This role works closely with engineering teams, Product Line Managers (PLMs), and cross-functional partners to define and execute technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.

The manager is responsible for ensuring that HPump products meet all design, performance, reliability, and quality standards. This includes driving innovation, supporting product lifecycle management, and delivering cost-out programs without compromising product integrity or customer requirements.

In this role, you will lead and assign phases of technology and product development projects; coordinate with PLMs; and collaborate with manufacturing engineering, product R&D, supply chain, and other support functions to ensure successful transition of new technologies into scalable, manufacturable products. A key responsibility will be enabling efficient ETO processes to meet customer-specific requirements while maintaining operational efficiency.

The HPump Engineering Manager is expected to demonstrate strong technical expertise in pump systems and artificial lift applications, along with advanced problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills. This role will lead a global or cross-functional team and is accountable for delivering high-impact engineering solutions, accelerating product innovation, and improving product cost competitiveness in the market.

As a H-Pump Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technology leadership by identifying, recommending, and implementing solutions that support HPump product lines, including NPD, cost-out, and ETO needs.
  • Planning, monitoring, and managing the implementation of new technologies into product development and ETO execution.
  • Working closely with business units and internal/external customers to understand requirements and establish technical direction; ensure strong cross-functional collaboration.
  • Establishing technology direction aligned with company strategy, product development goals, and market needs.
  • Driving NPD programs, cost optimization initiatives, and value engineering efforts to improve product competitiveness.
  • Managing and coordinate engineering activities for design, manufacturing, and testing across global teams.
  • Leading product/project teams to ensure successful transition of new technologies into scalable, manufacturable HPump products.
  • Planning engineering work including project objectives, applications, costs, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Developing, reviewing, and updating design standards and best practices; incorporate lessons learned and continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or any Science discipline) from an accredited college or university
  • Have minimum 10 years of experience in engineering/technical roles with strong competency in mechanical design
  • Have demonstrated experience leading teams
  • Have experience developing, reviewing, and updating design standards, practices, and best practices

Desired:

  • Have minimum of 5 years of engineering project management experience in new product development (NPD) and product introduction
  • Have prior people leadership experience in product development, research, or engineering environments
  • Have experience managing projects across remote and global/multi-location teams
  • Have demonstrated ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and operational problems
  • Have proven leadership in advancing technical solutions and driving innovation in pump or rotating equipment applications
  • Have proficiency with standard project management tools and processes
  • Have demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Have self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and commitment to increasing organizational value
