Job Summary:
Swift is the world’s leading provider of secure financial messaging services, headquartered in Belgium. They are seeking a Senior Dev Ops Engineer to resolve complex problem management issues, support audit processes, and enhance operational efficiency through automation and scripting.
Responsibilities:
• Resolve moderately complex problem management issues by investigating and implementing solutions for systems/operations, including installations, setups, error messages, online transactions, system/application status, testing solutions, and operational procedures in line with service level agreements (SLA’s)
• Assist in supporting audit processes to ensure all audit procedures are followed and adhered to, aiming for no audit findings
• Leverage automation and scripting, particularly with Python, to identify and automate repetitive tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and day-to-day work
• Demonstrate knowledge of CI/CD tools, UNIX/Linux operating systems, Ansible and Playbooks, and ServiceNow. Familiarity with databases and message-based software systems is essential. Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems is also required
• Possess basic knowledge of Oracle and other databases, ensuring effective management and troubleshooting
• Document deployment steps and validate in test environments before making them ready for production deployments
• Partner with Application Development teams to build application resiliency, implement service level objectives, and establish end-to-end observability. Participate in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflows
• Troubleshoot and restore system processing during incidents and problems. Participate in on-call rotation as needed to ensure seamless operations
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• 5 - 7 years of hands-on experience contributing to software development teams
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
• Experience with source code repositories such as GitHub and Bitbucket
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Ability to analyze complex problems and propose innovative solutions
