Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Printing Shift Supervisor the Material Handler in the Printing Department is responsible ensuring that molded product is brought from the warehouse staging area to the proper machine on time. That finished product is removed and taken and loaded on the wrapping machine. They are to ensure that all lines have raw product unloaded from pallet and finished product is neatly stacked back on pallet. A fully qualified Printing - Material Handler will be skilled in the following key responsibilities areas however may only be required to perform one or more of the responsibilities at a given time.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

 

  • Properly maintain Walkie and ensure daily checks are conducted and Check sheets appropriately logged
  • Physically moving the molded product from warehouse staging area and delivering it to the appropriate printing machine as well as ensuring the accuracy of all scanning transactions in the LX system
  • Unloading molded product and loading printed product onto skids following the designated route
  • Physically moving the finished printed product from printing to the warehouse wrapper area and loading on wrapper. As well as ensuring the accuracy of all scanning transactions in the LX system
  • Removing Rag barrels from machine area to warehouse staging area for transportation. (Changed from supplying machine mart and cell mart with UV solvent, UV clean Safe, water, sanitizer, hand cleaner, rags, tape, etc.- this constantly throughout all shifts)
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities and training
  • Housekeeping and 5S duties. Performing quality checks on outgoing pallets
  • Responding to Andon Lights and performing line clearance
  • Escalating any maintenance issue in regard to equipment.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as assigned by the printing supervisor/manager or designate

 

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Educational Requirements: High School or equivalent preferred

Minimum Experience/Field: Previous experience handling the electric walkie pallet truck

Licenses/Permits Required: Must have valid proof of training on electric walkie pallet truck

Communication Skills: Fluent in English with good verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements: Works in air-conditioned area. Must wear protective equipment when required.
