Position Summary
The Marketing Department is recruiting for one full time Printing & Mailroom Services Assistant. This position assists in providing printing, mailroom, and delivery services to the campus community.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Picks up mail from the Post Office and delivers it to the mailroom on the College campus and to an off-site location
  2. Receives, sorts, processes, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail
  3. Meters outgoing USPS mail and operates mailroom equipment
  4. Processes bulk mail, submits required forms, and maintains related paperwork
  5. Serves as a backup as needed to deliver and pick up interoffice mail, USPS mail, packages, print jobs, and items to be shredded to offices at VC's Main Campus and off-site locations
  6. Maintains Printing & Mailroom Services billing spreadsheets and generates monthly reports for expense distribution
  7. Assists in designing and printing the weekly News Flush publication in the supervisor's absence
  8. Assists in creating and installing campus signage and desk name plates using vinyl sign-making equipment, an engraving machine, and other sign-making tools
  9. Assists in training student workers
  10. Assists in maintaining inventory and orders paper, materials, and supplies
  11. Receives and processes business card orders
  12. Works closely with the Post Office to maintain postal permits and to ensure compliance with postal regulations
  13. Processes print requests and operates printers, copiers, folding, binding, and laminating machines and sign-making equipment
  14. Uses word processing, desktop publishing, and graphics software to print a variety of materials for internal and external clients
  15. Demonstrates personalized customer service of the highest level
  16. Maintains confidentiality of information
  17. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Two years of related experience preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Friendly and professional demeanor and good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently under time constraints
  • Team player who is dependable, punctual, organized, and detail oriented
  • Computer skills - adept in using Microsoft Outlook, Office, and Excel
  • Familiarity with desktop publishing and graphics software, or willingness and ability to learn quickly
  • Ability to sort mail accurately under time constraints
  • Familiarity with mail processing procedures and equipment, or willingness and ability to learn quickly
  • Previous billing and/or mail processing experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of College personnel, students, and visitors
  • Ability to safely operate basic equipment such as a dolly, carts, and vehicles
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and reliable automobile

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, key pads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as stand, walk, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel and climb stairs. The employee will periodically lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The employee must be able to perform job duties under all weather conditions. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, some color vision, and the ability to adjust focus from documents to computer screen. Hearing of light to moderate sound is required by this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
