Position Overview

Halvik is seeking an experienced Tech Lead โ€“ Principal Solutions Architect with 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Warehousing, and Cloud Data Platforms. The ideal candidate will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise-scale data warehouse, data lake, and analytics solutions supporting a Federal Government client. This role requires deep expertise in AWS cloud services, modern data engineering practices, metadata management, and enterprise data modeling.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, cloud engineers, BI developers, and technical leadership to design scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms that enable enterprise analytics and reporting.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor''''''''s or Master''''''''s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Data Architecture, or Enterprise Data Engineering.
Extensive experience designing enterprise Data Lakes, Data Warehouses, and Data Marts.
Strong expertise in AWS cloud technologies including:
AWS S3
Amazon Redshift
Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
AWS Glue
AWS IAM
Experience with modern analytics platforms including:
Databricks
Delta Lake
Apache Spark
Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling, star schema, snowflake schema, normalized and denormalized models.
Experience designing high-performance data repositories for large-scale analytical workloads.
Expertise in partitioning, indexing, compression, archival strategies, and storage optimization.
Experience designing Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 1, Type 2, Type 3).
Strong SQL skills with experience optimizing complex analytical queries.
Experience implementing metadata repositories and enterprise data catalogs.
Experience designing secure cloud-native data platforms.
Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
Strong documentation and architecture governance experience.

Experience with Palantir Foundry, including:

Workshop
Experience integrating enterprise BI tools such as:
Tableau
