Responsibilities
About the role:
As a Lead Solution Architect, you will be a key enabler of our Digital Transformation and provides technical leadership and guidance to other architects, agile teams and defines and communicates a shared technical vision for the solution under development. This position will be focused on guiding the architectural direction of our existing digital products and new digital initiatives, leveraging modern architecture and cloud technologies to deliver superior customer experiences which help to maintain industry-leading customer satisfaction. The Lead Solution Architect should be able to architect end to end solutions by understanding and translating business needs into technical solutions. The Lead Solution Architect will play a key role in providing guidance, setting architecture standards and patterns and designing complex Azure architecture for both mobile and web applications.
In this role you will:
  • You will apply your sound technical know-how, understanding of business contexts, and analytical skills to enable organizations to technically transform
  • Build relationships with senior technical individuals and leaders across the organization
  • Educate other architects and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud covering both functional and non-functional aspects
  • In partnership with the leadership team and architects across different domains, formulate and execute new and existing initiatives and products
  • Conduct one-to-many sessions to mentor and transfer knowledge to other solution architects across the organization
  • Act as a technical liaison between various GM Financial technical groups
  • Own or be a key contributor to the outcome of a big bet initiative for the Solutions Architect organization
  • Provide significant input into technology strategy and road-map; keep up to date on key technology trends and their applied use in financial services with emphasis on digital solutions and interact with various business partners (both internal and external) to assist in the design and implementation of business applications leveraging modern architectural standards
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of architectural standards under Digital org, including patterns, reference architectures, and best practices
  • Future-state application architecture: Developing and ensuring effective adoption that supports business strategies around our application architecture

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Lean, XP) and cross-functional teams
  • Experiences with multi-tier application architecture design, application development (full SDLC) and application integration
  • Advanced knowledge of current application design patterns E.g: Domain Driven Design, Micro-Services, Minimal API, Event Driven, Federated Identity, Sharding, Strangler Fig
  • Experience in using API technologies -HTTP, JSON, XML, REST API, and GraphQL
  • Experience applying microservices concepts like CQRS, back-end-for-front-end, anti-corruption layer, etc.
  • Experience and technical knowledge of various technology stacks
  • Experience in cloud native applications and cloud services architecture
  • Experience in building cloud solutions architecture using Public Clouds (IaaS and PaaS)
  • Experience and technical knowledge in containerization - Docker, Docker Swarm or Kubernetes
  • Experience and technical knowledge of Structured and unstructured databases and usage patterns
  • Experience in Integration methodologies and tools
  • Experience in Process automation approaches and tooling (e.g. DevOps, AIOps)

Experience
  • 7-10 years of experience as an Architect with a proven track record of implementing innovative solutions and delivering business values required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience required

Additional Knowledge and Skills
  • Working effectively within an AI enabled environment:
  • Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work
  • Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias
  • Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights
  • Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation
  • Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection

AI Skills Preferred
  • Experience with AI assisted software development or automation
  • Knowledge of prompting techniques to improve output quality
  • Awareness of emerging GenAI capabilities and limitations
