Job description

An established electronics services organization is seeking a Principal Systems Architect to provide strategic leadership over its systems architecture. In this role, you''ll design and implement scalable, secure infrastructure while partnering closely with software development and infrastructure teams to define requirements and drive best practices. You''ll lead the organization''s cloud strategy with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure, guide code reviews and testing standards, and mentor junior architects and developers. This is an opportunity to shape core infrastructure decisions for a company serving a national customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership in designing and implementing scalable, robust systems architecture that supports business growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and infrastructure staff, to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Design and implement high-performance, secure systems leveraging Microsoft Azure cloud services, balancing cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Lead code reviews and champion testing strategies to ensure system quality, reliability, and adherence to best practices.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture decisions and implementation details for long-term system continuity.
  • Mentor and train junior architects and developers to build the team''s overall technical capability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Systems Architect with hands-on, server-side development and architecture work.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure services and cloud-based architecture, including support, deployment, and design best practices.
  • Required hands-on experience with Nutanix hyper-converged infrastructure.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Intune, Group Policy Objects (GPO), and Microsoft 365 (O365) administration.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, along with proficiency in Java, C#, or Python.
