Under the direction of a Plant Manager, directs the daily operations for production and maintenance departments. Monitoring both departments ensuring they are operating for efficiently and safely, while ensuring all applicable regulatory requirements are met
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective production. This role directs multiple production lines, coordinates cross-functional teams, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance, quality, and throughput.
The Operations Manager ensures alignment with company goals by managing production schedules, labor utilization, maintenance coordination, and process consistency. They play a critical role in developing team capability, maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
This position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure strict adherence to plant safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee daily operations across multiple production lines to meet production targets
  • Optimize labor utilization and manage staffing across shifts
  • Partner with maintenance to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Analyze KPIs (OEE, scrap, downtime, efficiency) and drive improvement actions
  • Routinely monitor shift and individual machine performance reports and processes to ensure effective and efficient operations
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and frontline teams
  • Develop and improve the knowledge and skills of immediate staff, hourly personnel, and maintain training and developmental documentation
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Lead problem-solving and process improvement with the plant and customers to eliminate product issues
  • Coordinate with supply chain, engineering, and quality teams
  • Drive execution of assigned projects in a timely manner
  • Other duties assigned by plant management
  • Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.

Skills and requirements
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or in operations management. Equivalent Work experience acceptable.
• Five to seven years of experience in production management in a manufacturing environment
  • Champions a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Experience working with an integrated management system or ERP
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other common software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Change and inspirational management experience
  • Capacity to multitask projects simultaneously
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with attention to detail
